Jeff Berger is a director with Lument’s conventional multifamily production team in New York, where he is responsible for originating Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and balance sheet loans for multifamily housing clients nationwide. He has extensive experience in the placement of non-recourse debt for multifamily, manufactured housing, and student housing borrowers.
Jeff has a 24-year background in multifamily housing, spending the first 14 years involved in ownership and asset management of 5,000 units in Northeast Ohio and the past 10 years in real estate finance arranging debt and equity capital throughout the entire stack. His knowledge of both industries (operations and structured finance) serves as a useful tool for our clients.
Prior to joining Lument, Jeff worked at Grandbridge Real Estate Capital as a senior vice president, where he specialized in non-recourse lending for affordable multifamily communities. Prior to that, he was a first vice president with Walker & Dunlop for six years. In addition, he worked in structured finance at Deerwood Real Estate Capital.
