James Croft is senior managing director, mortgage banking services at Lument, responsible for partnering with other mortgage banking firms and providing loan servicing, warehouse funding, and capital and alternate financing options through the firm’s sales and trading platform.
Jim joined Lument’s predecessor entity in 1991, which became RED Capital Group in 2000. He became president of the investment banking platform, RED Capital Markets, Inc., in 2002. He served as president of RED Mortgage Capital from 2006 to 2011, then became chief executive officer of RED Capital Markets, which became OREC Securities, LLC.
Jim is regarded as a national expert in financing multifamily housing and healthcare and has managed over $2 billion in tax-exempt bond issues, including new money issues, current refundings and residual value extraction transactions. He has managed over $10 billion of multifamily housing and healthcare conventional financings through FHA, Fannie Mae, and Freddie Mac.
Jim served on the board of the National Leased Housing Association and the Ohio Housing Council, where he served as president from 2003-2004. He currently serves on the Advisory Board of The Ohio State University’s Center for Real Estate. He graduated from The Ohio State University and is a licensed inactive certified public accountant. He is also a licensed registered representative and principal (Series 7 and Series 24) with FINRA.
